  7. Hey there, and welcome! Can you explain a little more please? Have you not used your mobile wallet for awhile? Did you just reinstall it? Did you previously have coins in the mobile wallet? Is this your first time using it? Here are a couple things you could try: Post your issue in the main guapcoin telegram https://t.me/joinchat/2jdJc8qTvEBjZmNh or the guapcoin support telegram https://t.me/joinchat/HgQWhIFCqaeXLzPF and the development team involved with the mobile app should be able to help you. 8. November 7, 2022 Tavonia Evans is a self-described ‘mompreneur’ who has founded four businesses, as well as developing the decentralised cryptocurrency Guapcoin that she hopes will empower Black people and Black-owned businesses. In Evans’ view, people often get caught up in the technical intricacies of how cryptocurrencies function. This, she suggest, can stand in the way of them using it to better their lives. “The funny thing is, people don’t know a lot about traditional money, either, and they use it every day,” she says. “The main advantage of cryptocurrency is that it can empower regular people by removing the power structures, giving people more direct access to be able to do business with one another financially. Initially we need to get more comfortable with crypto as money, then we can get more into the technology.” https://www.raconteur.net/how-became-a/how-i-became-a-crypto-founder/
  9. Sorry you're still having trouble! Have you checked to see if your antivirus or other security settings are blocking the wallet from connecting? You could try temporarily turning off your antivirus or checking the settings to see if it's flagging and preventing the guapcoin wallet. If that's not helping, you could try the following steps: Click the "active connection" button Click "Peers" tab. Select any peer lower than version 2.3.2. Right-click and select ban node for 1 week. Right-click that same node and select "disconnect node" Perform these steps on all nodes less than version 2.3.2 If that doesn't work, you could also try these steps: Shutdown your Guapcoin wallet completely. Locate the Guapcoin application folder (should be in Users>Your Name>AppData>Roaming?Guapcoin and create a backup copy of the wallet.dat and store it in a separate folder for safety. In that folder, delete the blocks, chainstate, and sporks folder Download latest bootstrap.zip file here: https://github.com/guapcrypto/Guapcoin/releases/download/v2.3.2/bootstrap.zip Unzip that downloaded file. From the unzipped folder, copy the blocks, chainstate, and sporks folder to the Guapcoin application folder where you deleted those from previously When that's done, restart your wallet and see if the wallet starts syncing. Keep us posted on how things go.
  10. Ok, here are a few tips: If you haven't already, make sure to backup your wallet private key(s) for every address in this wallet and your laptop wallet. Instructions are here: https://www.guaptalk.org/topic/85-backing-up-your-desktop-wallet/ Have you tried shutting down the wallet fully, and then restarting? And also tried restarting your computer? When you click on settings, information, do you see any connections? Also does the blockchain show a number of blocks? You might need to go to settings, wallet repair, and choose rebuild index (this could take several hours) You could also join the support telegram and people (like me) might be able to help you more in real time. https://t.me/joinchat/HgQWhIFCqaeXLzPF
  11. Hi Abby! Welcome! On the new PC, can you tell me what you mean by not loading or connecting? What is happening? Also, did you make sure to download the most recent desktop wallet, version 2.3.2 from this link? https://guapcoin.org/get-guap/
  12. There are some guapcoin merchants posted at https://www.guaplist.com/ and other than that, the use cases are limitless. The community just needs to create them. Add more merchants, use it to pay each other for anything, use guapcoin for group membership fees, use it to buy a creative music/art piece that someone is selling, etc. The community creates and determines the use cases. Anything that money currently buys, the community could switch over to guapcoin. Anyone who receives a payment in dollars could say, I want to now be paid for this in guapcoin. We all just gotta make it happen.
  13. Yikes, that sounds frustrating! I'm not sure what you mean by your database crashes. Do you mean your wallet quits working or your masternode goes offline or something else? I haven't had any problem with my desktop wallet in the past 6 months.
  14. Hello there! I've had a lot of trouble with Pecunia over the past several months. My masternodes frequently go missing and won't restart. I've had a much better experience with https://ihostmn.com/ this year. I've never had a masternode go offline with them and the price is similar to Pecunia. When I used Digital Ocean, I also didn't have a masternode go offline, but they are a lot more expensive. I think the Pecunia servers just aren't as stable currently. Hope that helps!
  15. Ugh, sorry for the ongoing trouble here. I've still never experienced the too big error and I've sent transactions with 500+ coin inputs before. I think I've experienced the insufficient funds error before, but it was so long ago and I think it was a temporary thing where restarting my wallet and trying later worked.

  17. Hi CAG and welcome! When you are setting up a masternode, you need to send exactly 10,000 coins (no more, no less) to the wallet address that will be your masternode. When using the desktop wallet, you just need to make sure to enter 10000 in the Amount. The Guap wallet will automatically add the fee on top of that, so no other step is needed. When you've done that, you'll also see that the total to send is 10,000. See the screenshot below for an example: Check out this video for a walk-through of setting up a Pecunia masternode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUyprxerbCY Check out this tutorial for more tips: https://www.guaptalk.org/topic/50-masternode-setup/ Have a fantastic day!

She offers advice on how to take your first steps and discusses the first black female founded crypto technology aimed at impacting minority small businesses and communities. Topics Covered Cryptocurrency/Guapcoin is the most viable solution to closing the wealth gap in our community by providing alternative options to access to money, especially via the creation of DAOs ( Decentralized Autonomous Organizations ) that use the blockchain to pool or raise funds. Why it's important that we are investing in building Smart Cities. We are being left out of the true revolution in money - decentralized currencies ( crypto ), and how a lack of real eduction and knowledge is hindering us. More on Tavonia Evans Tavonia Evans is a 47 year old native of New York and “mompreneur”. 22. The guap mobile wallets are having issues syncing with the blockchain, and Tavonia and developers are working hard to create a mobile wallet upgrade. In the meantime, please do the following: Search your mobile wallet address on one of the Guapcoin explorers - https://guapcoinexplorer.com/ or https://ex1.guapcoin.org/ or https://guapexplorer.com/ and you will see the true balance of your coins. If that amount is different than your mobile wallet, the mobile wallet just isn't syncing correctly with the blockchain. The blockchain explorers will always show the true value of your wallet address. Backup your private keys by following these instructions: https://www.guaptalk.org/topic/84-backing-up-your-mobile-wallet/ Stay tuned as Tavonia mentioned, and watch for details about the updated mobile wallet. Here are some pictures from the upgrade development:
  23. Basic Intro to XGuap https://www.xguap.com/ Hey Guap Family,I just wanted to share my perspective and understanding about XGuap that Tavonia and her team are currently working on. Keep in mind this is a short summary and you'll want to dig further by reading the websites and published papers, and also researching the technology that's referenced, but I'm hoping this at least gives some basic clarity and keeps the community dreaming about what's possible. Important: You don't need XGuap unless you want to trade Guapcoin on a decentralized exchange like PancakeSwap or participate in defi activities that would require XGuap. Take a look at the website and you'll get some more info. The goal of this project is to give people more access to Guapcoin, which increases liquidity for everyone. XGuap is like Guapcoin that's been put in a suitcase/wrapper so it can be traded on the Binance Smart Chain. Guapcoin gets wrapped in a smart contract code suitcase and that process/conversion results in XGuap being generated and sent to the user's wallet (Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Binance Wallet, Metamask, etc) to be traded on a decentralized exchange like PancakeSwap. Or a user buys XGuap on PancakeSwap and then unwraps it (pulls Guapcoin out of the suitcase) via the smart-contract code and receives Guapcoin in their Guap wallet at a 1 to 1 ratio. Some examples are presented further down. The community has talked for awhile about how it would be great if Guapcoin was on another exchange besides just ProBit. The reality is, getting listed on other centralized exchanges (Coinbase, Kukoin, Kraken, etc) requires a large payment of upfront capital and/or a lengthy approval process (sometimes with no responses for months), and that's not the only route to go. Another option is to utilize decentralized exchanges like PancakeSwap or UniSwap (among many others, but those are two of the larger more well-established ones) and get Guapcoin on there. A decentralized exchange lets users remain anonymous. You basically get a compatible software crypto wallet (Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Binance Wallet, Metamask, etc), connect your wallet to the decentralized exchange of your choice, and make the direct trade from one coin to another. No registration, no proof of identity, no know your customer steps. However, it does require some study, learning, and careful attention to detail to have your transactions go through and send funds to/from that wallet, and make sure you're actually getting the coin you want. So users need to proceed with care, watch videos, learn as much as possible before just jumping in, and then start slow with small amounts of coins. It's not for everyone, and ProBit will still remain a valid option for buying/selling Guapcoin. XGuap will start on PancakeSwap PancakeSwap operates on Binance Smart Chain (allowing you to trade coins connected to that blockchain) and UniSwap operates on the Ethereum blockchain (allowing you to trade coins connected to that blockchain). Since Guapcoin is its own blockchain, it can't be traded directly on either of those decentralized exchanges because it's not part of the Binance or Ethereum blockchains. One option is to create a wrapped token called XGuap that's like a little suitcase to carry Guapcoin on the Binance Smart Chain decentralized exchange. Part of the reason that Binance Smart Chain was chosen is because it has significantly lower fees than the Ethereum Blockchain. Read here for more info about wrapped tokens: https://academy.binance.com/en/articles/what-are-wrapped-tokens Again, you don't need XGuap unless you want to trade Guapcoin on a decentralized exchange like PancakeSwap or participate in defi activities that would require XGuap.. It’s not a necessity for anyone, just an option for those that prefer it. Here are a few examples: Example 1 - I want to buy Guapcoin. I’ve never registered with ProBit or any other centralized exchange. I don’t want to register or maybe I live in a country that won’t allow me to register. I’ve been able to acquire Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin, and USDT, and I’m familiar with what’s needed to deposit/convert those and trade on PancakeSwap. So I connect my wallet to PancakeSwap and make the exchange from the crypto that I have to XGuap. Then I go to https://www.xguap.com/ and convert my XGuap 1 to 1 for Guapcoin via a smart-contract code, and the Guapcoin gets deposited into the Guap wallet address I specify. Example 2 - I want to sell Guapcoin. Same story as above except I first go to https://www.xguap.com/ and convert my Guapcoin 1 to 1 for XGuap via a smart-contract code, and the XGuap is deposited to the wallet I specify (Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Binance Wallet, Metamask, etc). I then go to PancakeSwap and make the trade for the crypto that I want. Example 3 - I want to participate in some crypto defi protocols like lending, staking, liquidity pools, etc on other blockchains. I have some extra Guapcoin. I go to https://www.xguap.com/ and convert my Guapcoin 1 to 1 for XGuap via a smart-contract code, and that XGuap gets deposited to the wallet I specify (Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Binance Wallet, Metamask, etc). I then trade that XGuap on PancakeSwap for the coin I need to participate in whatever defi protocol I’m looking for (or use my XGuap for defi activities as the community begins to build those out). Hopefully all that was helpful!
  24. August 9, 2022 For years, cryptocurrency has been a hot topic among investors, coworkers, celebrities, and even down-the-street neighbors. But, given recent market volatility, is digital currency still a viable option? And should people of color, who’ve viewed crypto as an entry into wealth-building, continue to trust it as an investment vehicle? Lindsay talks to blockchain engineer and data scientist Tavonia Evans about the accessibility of crypto and if it still offers a path to closing the wealth gap. https://the-new-rules-of-business.simplecast.com/episodes/can-crypto-still-close-the-wealth-gap-64ncY4F0
  25. So glad we were able to help you solve this by backing up your wallet keys and installing the wallet on a new computer and then importing your wallet address to that new wallet. Keep learning and keep backing up those wallet keys! We're all going to keep building this movement together.
