I recently went through the painful process of updating my VPS to 20.04 and all my wallets to 2.3.2. I finally got everything online and "enabled." When I bring up my wallets they come up and sync. All MN show that they are happy.  When I view my MNs on Explorer they show "enabled." The problem is that I am not receiving any rewards. Is there something else that I need to do to restart my rewards? It took me forever to get everything updated but I am pretty confident that everything is right. Can someone help me with this?

Hooray!  That's incredible!  Nice work.  The masternodes will take about 2-3 days before they start receiving rewards once they are enabled.  So if they show status Enabled and are running fine, it's best to leave them be and wait a few days.

"Note, this website is currently down as it is being rebuilt due to the recent Guap blockchain update. Not sure when it will be available again." - That is, I do not know if my masternode is active or not? Approximately at least it is known when the site will start working?

It's not yet known when the website will be running again, hopefully in the next month or so as the team works on it.  However, please know it is just a helpful and convenient resource for quickly checking on masternode status, but it is always best practice and most accurate to either check your masternode status via VPS command (looking for started successfully and status 4 result) or via your desktop wallet masternodes tab.

Your desktop wallet will tell you your masternode status best.  Please go to the masternodes tab in your wallet and then check to make sure the status says Enabled.  If it says Active, give it time (2-8hrs) to transition to Enabled.  If it says Missing, give it a few hours to transition to Enabled. You can also click the 3 dots by the masternode status to get more info about the masternode.

See this screenshot below for checking the masternode status in your wallet:

Why, when checking the masternode, does it not see it? Can you check please? On the VPS server, when checking the status, the message is that the masternode started successfully. Status - "4"

Hi Viktor88!  Welcome!  That site, guapnodes.com is not for checking self-hosted masternodes (whether done on private VPS, Pecunia, iHostMN, etc).  It is only for people who purchased shares of masternodes directly from Tavonia or other community members early in the days of Guapcoin and those guapnodes are managed by Tavonia and team.

To check the status of your masternode, you essentially have 3 options:

    1. If self-hosting - check the status via your direct VPS using the getmasternode status command. If hosting on Pecunia, iHostMN, etc, login to your account and check the status on their website.
    2. Go to your desktop wallet, click on Masternodes on the left side menu, look for the specific masternode name/address you want to verify, and notice what the Status section states.
    3. Go to https://guapcoinexplorer.com/ and go the masternodes tab and enter your wallet address and look for the status.  Note, this website is currently down as it is being rebuilt due to the recent Guap blockchain update.  Not sure when it will be available again.

Hope that helps!  If your masternode says enabled in your wallet, then leave it be and the rewards should start coming (can take 48-72 hours as the masternode needs time to sync with the blockchain, begin participating, and wait its turn for rewards.

    Hello Keith,

Thank you for your response. Tavonia backed up my Wallet last year for me. However, I am not for sure about private keys. I have the backup file. Will I be able to access those private keys through that backup file?

In the meantime, I will follow the instructions and let you know.

    Much gratitude again!

    Hi Lovey,

It's great that you have the backup file! I updated the instructions above to reflect the two methods of restoring your wallet (note the different code you type for each method).  With the backup file, you'll want to use the first option.

You won't be able to get the private key directly from that backup file.  You would have needed to export the private key(s) before the old wallet crashed.  Once you have your wallet restored from the backup file, you'll be able to backup the private keys as well.

    Keep us posted!

  5. Hi Lovey B! Welcome!  So sorry about the computer crash!  You will need your private keys or wallet backup.  Do you have the wallet private keys (don't post them here, I just want to make sure you have them).  You would have the private keys by following these instructions here: https://www.guaptalk.org/topic/85-backing-up-your-desktop-wallet/

First Install a New Desktop Wallet:

    1. Download the latest wallet from here: https://guapcoin.org/get-guap/
    2. Once the wallet is installed, launch it and let it fully sync.

Restoring the wallet from a backup file:

    1. Go to Settings, then Debug, and choose Console
    2. In the Console, type importwallet and then type the filename of your backupfile and then hit enter, so it will look like this - importwallet 12345678GBQA and then hit enter.
      1. image.thumb.png.832284c8c5b849ffdd6add5c1221ff98.png

Restoring the wallet from a private key:

    1. Go to Settings, then Debug, and choose Console
    2. In the Console, type importprivkey and then type your private key, so it will look like this - importprivkey GC987654321 and then hit enter.
    3. image.thumb.png.7fe49c8311e2c4888bf51d9ba28d8933.png
    4. That will be the process for each private key you have.

  6. Hey Joe,

Thanks for the update.  Any progress today?  You can always pop into the Guapcoin Support Telegram  https://t.me/joinchat/HgQWhIFCqaeXLzPF  and ask some questions and see if you get some real-time responses.  I've asked @Sigma25 to check in as well since he's very familiar with setting up self-hosted MN's too. You will want to make sure that you've started each MN in the wallet console using the command: startmasternode alias false MN-Name where you replace MN-Name with the name you've given your masternode (or go to the masternode tab, click on the 3 dots by the masternode you need to start and choose start).  It sounds like you've done this before though so you're probably already doing that.

Also once you start the masternode, you'll want to wait 4-8 hours as it should cycle from active to enabled (and sometimes will say missing as a step in-between).

  7. You're doing awesome Joe!  It sounds like you might still have the old wallet version 2.3.1 also installed and maybe you're opening that one up?  When you open the wallet that won't update to the current block is it version 2.3.1 or 2.3.2?

Here's what I realized on Windows PC's. You most likely have 2 installations of Guap wallet, one is the old 2.3.1 and one is the 2.3.2, and you are inadvertently opening the old version.

After making sure that your desktop wallet is updated to 2.3.2 and is backed up, go into your add/remove programs and uninstall the old Guap 2.3.1 app from your list of programs.  Let us know if that makes sense and helps you out.

  9. Hi Denala!  Thanks for the patience.  Tavonia/team have been working on updating the mobile wallets and the guappools masternodes connected to them after the major Guap blockchain update that occurred January 1st.  She announced earlier this week that the mobile wallets and guappools nodes were now updated too, but so far no one has said their rewards are starting up again so there are still some issues.  Tavonia/team are continuing their troubleshooting.  Here are some things to note:

    1. guapcoinexplorer.com is still down since the January 1 blockchain update.  Team is still working on fixing that site.  Not sure when it will be fixed, but keep checking!
    2. guapexplorer.com is working so that's what you'll want to use for now.
    3. You'll also want to use https://www.guapnodes.com/ and enter your wallet address.

You're right, no rewards are coming in yet for your address this year since the blockchain update.  Tavonia/team are doing their best to fix that.  We'll will post any updates when we have them here and in the Telegram group.

  10. Hi and welcome!  A few questions for you:

    1. Is your desktop wallet version the old 2.3.1 or have you updated it to by carefully following these instructions here https://www.guaptalk.org/topic/158-updating-desktop-wallets-and-masternodes-to-232/  ??
    2. Have you gone to https://guapexplorer.com/ and checked each address to see if the correct balance shows in the blockchain explorer?

It could just be that your wallet needs to be updated or that your wallet isn't correctly syncing to the blockchain.  Let us know what you find in response to those questions.

  11. XGUAP is short for “extended GUAP” because it expands the capabilities of Guapcoin.  It is a wrapped stablecoin pegged in value 1 to 1 to Guapcoin so that you can trade Guapcoin in decentralized exchanges like pancakeswap using the Binance Smart Chain. It also gives the capability of participating in other decentralized finance protocols built on the Binance Smart Chain.

Here's a good article to learn about wrapped coins:  https://academy.binance.com/en/articles/what-are-wrapped-tokens

  12. Guapcoin 2.3.2 - Rosewood Phase 1 is now released.

IMPORTANT: Follow instructions carefully and make sure to back up your desktop wallet first (backup instructions are included in the update tutorials below and can also be found here: https://www.guaptalk.org/topic/85-backing-up-your-desktop-wallet/  If you don't backup your wallet, you could lose access to all your coins!!!

    • Failure to update your wallets and masternodes to v2.3.2 will result in removal/disconnect from the blockchain, meaning your desktop wallet or masternode will not sync with the network, no rewards will be received, and your desktop wallet will be unable to perform transactions.
    • This rewards increase is a major update for all users. The upgrade is fairly simple and requires desktop wallet users to delete the blockchain and chainstate folders from the Guapcoin application directory.
    • This release increases rewards to 20 Guap for Masternodes and 5 Guap for staking. The rewards will remain at this rate until we release the Tulsa DAO upgrade in January – February 2022.
    • All Masternodes and Desktop Wallets must be updated before block height 1,260,000

Watch this video for step by step instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sn0FDOvSg4

IMPORTANT: After you have backed up your wallet, done the update, and then backed up your wallet again just to be certain, then you will need to uninstall the old wallet version Guap 2.3.1 from your computer so that you aren't accidentally running the old wallet.

  13. Tavonia and team just finished updating the mobile wallets and the Guappool masternodes connected to them. They should be syncing correctly and sending rewards now.  The guapcoinexplorer website will hopefully be running again in the next few days.  Her team is working on that too.  For now, can you do the following?

    1. Go to https://guapexplorer.com/ and paste in your mobile address and see if you think the value and transactions are correct on the blockchain.
    2. Check your mobile wallet and see if transactions are syncing correctly in your mobile wallet.

Let us know if you're having troubles still.
